Generally we do not have any idea about the theme subject when we just startup any online business means we do not know on what subject we have enough knowledge and we can write good content on so that we could make enough online income. So, first of all I will have to get some ideas about theme subject. I am going to describe the process I generally use to get Theme Idea for my site/blog.
To get some idea which matches my nature I generally use Online Directories, because the directories are the classified groups of themes. I generally use DMOZ, Yahoo and Google’s directory for getting theme idea, because they are the biggest directory collections and I can find various kinds of theme ideas there.
Although, I get too many types of theme ideas in these directories but when I want to select a theme idea from these directories, I consider only on one factor which is as follows:
Am I Passionate about the theme subject?
If I do not like a subject, how could I do hard work on? So I brainstorm my personal nature and I ask myself, “On what subject I could talk about hours”. If I could talk hours on a subject without being bore indicates that I am passionate about that subject and I can do hard work on the subject for hours. If I got right passionate theme subject, it is self clear that I have enough knowledge about the theme subject too and it will be too easy to me to make good quality content on the subject. This is the process of selecting right theme subject and you should also use it.
How to use directories to get theme subject?
To find out the theme subject idea, just go to DMOZ (http://www.dmoz.org) directory.
You will get many groups. Just click on any group you like and you think you know something about that. For example, if you like Sports, Just click on the Sports hyperlink. You will get various kinds of other groups related to Sports as follows:
Now you can brainstorm which subject you like to talk about on your site/blog. For example do you like to talk about various kinds of “Sports People” or you like to talk about “Sports Women” or do you want to sell any product related to “Sports Shopping”.
If you like to talk on any particular game, you may click on that game’s hyperlink. For example, if you have enough knowledge about “Baseball” or “Cricket”, you may choose “Sports Baseball” or “Sports Cricket” as your theme subject. If you like to be more specific with your Niche Market, you may click on the hyperlink of “Baseball” or “Cricket”. If you click on “Cricket” group, you will get so may other options as follows:
If you like to talk about various “Cricketers”, you may dig into “Cricketers” group. If you like to write about “Rules and Regulations” of “Cricket”, you may dig into “Rules and Regulations” with clicking the hyperlink or if you want to write about Special Events of the “Cricket”, you may click on the “Events” hyperlink to get more specific ideas about the “Cricket Events” as follows:
Here you get the theme “Indian Premier League” and “World Cup”. Thus you may select these themes as your subject and you may write about “Indian Premier League’s” special events or “World Cup’s” special events. This is the process to select a theme you are passionate about and you can apply this process to find out various kinds of other theme subjects.
